I take my profession as a child care provider very seriously. I attend many child care workshops and seminars in order to constantly improve my knowledge and grow professionally. For 26 years, I have been an active member of Family Child Care Homes of Rhode Island. I have served on the Board of Directors as well as in the capacity of newsletter editor, treasurer and president.
I was one of the first five providers in Rhode Island to become Nationally Accredited and have also completed the Rhode Island Early Learning Standards program. I was also one of the first 20 educators in Rhode Island to receive a 4 star BrightStars rating. www.brightstars.org. I currently present workshops on various topics to early childhood educators.
I find my career choice rewarding and it has helped me achieve a professional reputation with my peers. I strive to teach children that we are all unique and can learn from one another.
More! Positive Start has been successfully operating since 1986. My desire was to encompass a small group environment to meet young children's needs through Kindergarten. I believe the "best of both worlds" are offered, a small pre-school environment in a secure home atmosphere. My goal is to provide a clean, safe and comfortgable family atmosphere where children can play with guidance and respect one another. This is an anti-biased program. Multi-cultural awareness and understanding are promoted. Children benefit by the positive, loving, nurturing, family environment that is offered.
